The Metrostile

You are now in control of Lightning with Hope assisting. First upgrade your Crystarium, I would recommend spending your CP for Lightning on Commando and splitting your CP for Hope evenly between Medic and Ravager. Now attack the two groups of Corps Tranquifix. They are just a new iteration of the run of the mill Psi-Com soldiers, so no special strategy is needed to defeat them. There is a path that goes behind one of the trucks that leads to a Treasure Sphere containing 3 Fiber-optic Cables. Once these are collected, jump into the open pipe and continue until you see a left-hand fork that has a Treasure Sphere with 3 flasks of Holy Water inside. Once you exit the pipe you can either fight through the four Corps Tranquifix for experience or jump into the pipe directly ahead, which circumvents these battles.

On the bridge up ahead you can either try to run past the rather difficult Falco Velocycle or fight it for 90 CP. If you choose to fight it, start out with Slash and Burn and switch to Dual casting to fill the chain gauge before it can use its Gatling Gun attack. Once it is Staggered Lightning can launch it and finish the battle quickly. Alternatively, you can summon Odin right before Gatling Gun is used and try to finish the enemy off with Odin. Once you enter the large pipe, look to the right and there is a Treasure Sphere with a Librascope.

The Nutriculture Complex

After riding the entry platform, look for a switch. Press the switch and step back on the platform, this will take you to a new platform with a Phoenix Down and a Holy Water. The new Flaninator enemies can heal each other, so focus on one before attacking another. After fighting the Flaninator, you will see a Lucidon. This enemy requires patience, as you can only damage it appreciably after it is Staggered. Once it is Staggered, Lightning can launch it and make quick work of it.

After the food production Fal'cie cutscene, walk until you find a circular platform. There is a switch near it that will take you to a side platform with a Lucidon and Flaninator, and a Treasure Sphere with an Aqua Ring and 3 Mobius Coils. Continue on to another cutscene, and pick up the Warding Talisman on the path ahead. Proceed until a cutscene puts you in control of Snow.

The Agora

You will start out as Snow in Gestalt mode. Just using Auto Gestalt and finishing with Diamond Dust should be enough to kill all the enemies and earn you an easy 5 Star Rating. Have a Lifeguard Paradigm set up in case the battles get tough, otherwise, the usual switch between Slash and Burn and War and Peace should work well for all the enemies in this area. The one exception to this is the Psi-Com Warlord that is guarding a Fortisol. To defeat him, first kill the two weaker enemies; then switch between War and Peace and Slash and Burn. This ought to get the Warlord Staggered, and then it is just a matter of time. There is a Paladin weapon for Snow guarded by a few Psi-Com soldiers, and it's defiantly worth getting. Fight with another Warlord and his minions, and you can jump into a tunnel.  There are 4 Insulated Cables behind you in the tunnel.  Proceed to a cutscene.

The Back Alleys

Same old same old, spend CP and adjust Paradigms to your liking. There are a few fights here but nothing you haven't seen before. Continue on to a cutscene and a party switch to Snow and Hope. There is Holy Water behind your starting location, and 2 Incentive Chips if you jump up a wall that hugs the left of the path. Fight the Psi-Com Soldiers up to the Save Station, and pick up the Guardian Amulet nearby.

After a cutscene, you will face three Psi-Com Aerial Snipers. These are new enemies who have high damage dealing potential. Focus on one enemy with Slash and Burn, and use Lifeguard if things get aweful. Once one enemy dies it gets much easier. You can run past the next group of three Snipers if you had a hard time with the others. Continue for a cutscene.

Run along the path, and once you jump down look behind you for a Shaman's Mark accessory. You will be ambushed by a Falco Velocycle after you grab the item. For this battle, Try to work the Chain Gauge as high as you can with Slash and Burn and then switch to Lifeguard before it can use Gatling Gun. If you time it right Snow should take almost no damage.

Once you reach the two parallel paths go to the further one and you will find Thrust Bearnings. You can cut to the right after this to find Hope's weapon, Vidofnir. Another Falco Velocycle awaits you up ahead. Use the same strategy outlined above and continue on. There is a Deceptisol near where you fought the Velocycle. Above is a fight with another Velocycle and a Sniper. There is 2000 gil along the track adjacent to this battle.

Defeating Ushumgal Subjugator

Paradigm Setup

Building Block (2)

Hope - Synergist
Snow - Sentinel

War and Peace (2)

Hope - Medic
Snow - Commando

Slash and Burn (2)

Hope - Ravager
Snow - Commando

Strategy

This boss is not hard if you are patient. First, it is important to have doubles of the War and Peace, Building Block, and Slash and Burn Paradigms. Switch between these often to gain the free ATB charge. Start out with Hope buffing and then go into full assault with Slash and Burn. Switch to War and Peace when you are in danger of being killed by Tail Hammer. It may be slow, but once you Stagger him you should be able to finish the fight without having to summon.

Western Promenade

You're now back with Fang and Lightning. Look behind you for a path leading to 15 Bestial Claws. There are several fights with familiar enemies up ahead. All can be avoided, but be sure to grab the Gae Bolg weapon for Fang. It is guarded by an Orion and a few Psi-Com troops. A Lodestar Behemoth is found shortly after the Gae Bolg weapon. This is a very difficult battle, but it can be avoided. However, if you choose to fight it use a conservative approach, like doubles of the Slash and Burn Paradigms, Life Guard, and War and Peace. Once the Behemoth's health is around a third it will stand up and do substantially more damage. Just slow down, and use Fang as a Sentinel. Eventually Lightning can whittle its health away to victory. After the battle proceed to a cutscene.

After a fight with some generic Psi-Com enemies, it is very important that you grab Lightning's Axis Blade weapon in the Treasure Sphere behind the two Orions. The open courtyard that you enter after the cutscene has a Tungsten Bangle and a Black Belt in it. These can be equipped right away. There is a Lodestar Behemoth and a Psi-Com Bombardier blocking the path ahead. This battle can be conquered using the same strategy outlined above and focusing on the Soldier first. If you cannot win you can either grind in the courtyard behind you, or you can try and sneak past (possibly with a Deceptisol).

Defeating Ushumgal Subjugator (Walking)

Paradigm Setup

Relentless Assault (2)

Lightning - Ravager
Fang - Commando
Hope - Ravager

Diversity (2)

Lightning - Ravager
Fang - Commando
Hope - Medic

Decimation

Lightning - Ravager
Fang - Commando
Hope - Synergist

Strategy

This battle starts off with just Hope. Use Synergysit to buff at the beginning, and then switch to Ravager. Only switch to Medic when your health is low. Eventually, Fang and Lightning join, and the battle becomes much more reasonable. Switch between Diversity and Relentless Assault, and follow a similar strategy to the previous battle. After the battle grab the Phoenix Down and enter Hope's house.

The Estheim Residence

After all the cutscenes, a relatively easy fight ensues, and for a few optional fights a Brawler's Wristband can be obtained. Spend CP and prepare your equipment. Proceed to the waypoint for a boss battle.

Defeating Havok Skytank

Paradigm Setup

Relentless Assault (2)

Lightning - Ravager
Fang - Commando
Hope - Ravager

Diversity (2)

Lightning - Ravager
Fang - Commando
Hope - Medic

Evened Odds

Lightning - Medic
Fang - Saboteur
Hope - Synergist

Strategy

Start the battle using Evened Odds to buff your characters. Switch between Relentless Assault and Diversity during the battle. Work on the starboard and port side turrets first to minimize the tank's offensive capability. This battle can be long but it gets progressively easier once you destroy the boss's parts. Now destroy each of the hulls. Remember to reapply buffs as they wear off. The final phase requires you to engage the Main Cannon individually. The same strategy of buffing and switching between offensive Paradigms applies here. Finish the battle to receive access to Plautus's Workshop and a lot of CP.

Congratulations, Chapter 7 is finished.
